Bula acquires Miraculum

Bula Holdings, a leading BEE solutions, services and infrastructure provider has acquired Miraculum, a Software as a Service Provider (SaS) to both the high-end ERP and SMME markets.

Miraculum started as a joint venture between four of South Africa’s corporate heavyweights, namely Old Mutual, Nedcor Limited, Dimension Data plc and the J&J Group. The purpose of this joint venture was to develop a South African capability in the application service provider (ASP) space.

Tsepa Ramoriting, managing director, Bula says, “Miraculum is an excellent fit to Bula Solutions, a business unit within Bula Holdings, which provides an extensive range of Oracle applications, technology and related services to the enterprise market. Bula Solutions focuses on integrated applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), business intelligence, supply chain management, CRM, data warehousing and workflow applications, collaboration and business integration solutions. Miraculum is also a Netsuite Solution Provider, which is a comprehensive internet based solution for the SMME market with a complete offering of integrated ERP, CRM and e-commerce modules.”

Channing McDonald, chief operating officer for Miraculum adds, “For some time now Miraculum have been looking to enhance our market presence by bolstering our sales and delivery capacity. In Bula we have found an organization that gives us this but more importantly a true understanding of the value inherent in our Software as a Service Model, something that we are extremely passionate about”

“We have grown our customer base steadily and boast a national footprint of blue chip clients and also several ground breakers in the SMME space. We are geared to take advantage of new technology trends in the SaS market. Hosted business applications, centrally managed, accessed securely via the internet and provided on a pay-as-you-go billing model are only a taste of what’s to come.”

The acquisition will broaden the customer base in both enterprise and SMME markets and bring significant revenue streams through long term service and procurement contracts and the ability to deliver more and more business applications via the internet taking advantage of the reducing internet access costs.

Miraculum management and staff will be consolidated with the Bula staff by the end of September at their new offices in Samrand.
